Nicole is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of
experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and
major life transitions. She blends evidence-based approaches, such as CBT, DBT,
and trauma-informed care, with a grounded, compassionate style that helps
clients feel comfortable, seen, and empowered.

She works with teens, adults, and older adults and is especially committed to
providing affirming care for anyone seeking a nonjudgmental, honest space to
grow. Nicole focuses on making therapy collaborative and practical, helping
clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable
change. She is dedicated to helping clients build resilience and reconnect with
their strengths so they can move toward a healthier, more grounded life.

    Passionate about supporting patients through their recovery process, Sofia provides compassionate care and professional expertise in addiction treatment.  Sofia also serves as our liaison with regional recovery housing, facilitating care in times of crisis.

    Shannon brings 17 years of broad healthcare experience and a genuine passion for patient care. She is board-certified as a nurse practitioner in both psychiatry and primary care. Shannon has been treating patients at BrightWell Health for the past 3 years with substance use and mental health conditions. She has been weaning patients off chronic benzodiazepines using the Ashton method while managing their mental health and pursuing it as her doctoral project.

    Shannon began her career as a nurse on the medical-surgical floor at Sibley Hospital in
    Washington, DC. As a nurse practitioner, she then worked in Infectious Disease for Johns Hopkins University and the primary care group at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, treating patients with diverse and complex needs.

    Shannon’s interest in psychiatry and substance use disorders developed after seeing many patients with these health concerns and the limited care that is available in the community. Shannon worked at Arundel Lodge behavioral health urgent care clinic, treating children and adults with mental health conditions and substance use disorders.

    As a board certified Addiction Medicine specialist and fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Fuller is a strong advocate for advancing comprehensive, compassionate, evidenced-based addiction and recovery care. He is committed to developing systems of care that lower barriers for needed services, improve quality, reduce stigma, and increase awareness and understanding of addiction recovery treatment. He actively participates in outreach to help educate physicians/providers, health professionals, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, police/EMS, government officials, stakeholders, and the public.

    Dr. Fuller’s background in medical ethics, public health, internal medicine, emergency medicine and patient safety/quality improvement have all strongly influenced his passion for addiction/recovery care. He currently serves on several Anne Arundel County Health Department committees including the Overdose Prevention Team (OPT), the Fatal Overdose Review Team (Fort) and the Harm Reduction Advisory Council. He served as the Medical Director for the Calvert County Crisis Response program and was the physician member to the Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA) advisory committee (Calvert County). In addition, Dr. Fuller currently serves on the Opioid and Pain Management Committee for MedChi (state medical association). He actively participates with the state chapters of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) for increasing addiction education and service delivery in Maryland. 

    Dr. Fuller is a national patient safety leader and former Chief Safety Officer for Alteon Health (EMA Mid-Atlantic Division), which served 23 hospitals in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington DC. He was past Chair for the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and has led regional and national safety programs on opioid prescribing, emergency airway management and physician handoff communications. He has presented nationally for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Patient Safety Foundation, the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management, the Providers Clinical Support System (PCSS), the American College of Emergency Physicians, and regionally for the Maryland Patient Safety Center.

    Dr. Fuller has authored/coauthored/contributed to 17 peer-reviewed articles on topics of patient safety, clinical care, and medical ethics.

    He resides in Anne Arundel County with his wife and 2 young sons and enjoys spending time with his family, as well as exploring food and travel.
