Brandy brings 20 years of broad healthcare experience and a genuine passion for patient care. She is board certified as a nurse practitioner in both psychiatry and primary care. Brandy sees patients at BrightWell Health who are in need of care for substance use disorders as well as co-occurring anxiety, depression or other behavioral/emotional health conditions.
Brandy began her career as a Licensed Professional Counselor working in community health clinics and with the criminal justice system for those with substance use and mental health disorders. As a nurse practitioner, she served as an active-duty officer for 13 years with the United States Public Health Service working with underserved and military populations. During her career she deployed to serve those in need both in the United States and abroad in times of natural disaster and disease epidemics. She has spent time working with those with chronic and complex needs across a variety of settings.
Brandy has always had an interest in psychiatry and substance use disorders and incorporates a holistic and caring approach to all of the encounters with patients. She has a desire to help those she cares for achieve their goals with a human centered approach, understanding that addiction and mental health are tightly linked during all stages of recovery.
